Gavin McGuire

"I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community and as long as I live, it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can. I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work the more I live." - George Bernard Shaw

Gavin McGuire first realized his vision of positive community influence in his native city of New Orleans, Louisiana. It was through his work with the Treme Center as a counselor, mentor, program administrator and youth leader that his promising future began its formation. In 1991, he moved to Atlanta, GA, where he attended Morehouse College and was further encouraged to affect a powerful change in the lives of families and youth.

Since graduating from Morehouse College with the prestigious Cum Laude distinction, he went on to pursue his vision with various reputable institutions, such as the YMCA, the Department of Juvenile Justice, and SWI Consulting, where he developed community-based programs for professional athletes and entertainers.

Throughout his 16-year career, he has developed numerous youth and adult programs, including pre-school, after-school, mentoring and summer camps, and has attained substantial funding for neglected communities across the country.

A tireless worker, Gavin continues to bring about brighter futures for our youth and communities.
