TYTE: Transforming Youth Through Education and Strengthening Collaborations
Not only does the Future Foundation positively impact the lives of children in South Fulton County, it also works to improve the neighborhoods where they live. The Future Foundation is teaming up with local community groups to address gang activity, youth violence, and child abuse and neglect in South Fulton as part of the Capital Compassion Fund’s Communities Empowering Youth (CEY) program. Future Foundation gave this initiative a new name – TYTE (Transforming Youth Through Education), which embodies its vision for developing youth.
Future Foundation is partnering with the Andrew and Walter Young Family YMCA in Atlanta, the East Point Community Action Team, and the Seeds of Success for a three-year capacity building program that will include, organizational assessments, skill building workshops, technical assistance, and designing strategies to improve community outreach.
The goal: To strengthen working relationships among community organizations through collaborative efforts, bolstering both groups' efforts to serve the community. The collaborative will participate in a community needs assessment, training workshops, presentations, professional development seminars, staff retreats, meetings and community outreach initiatives.
TYTE as a collaborative will focus on skill development in the following areas:
- Leadership Development - Goal Setting, Strategic Planning, Management, Supervisor Fundamentals, Team Building and Volunteer Training workshops.
- Organizational Development - Written Policies and Procedures, Communication Strategy, Public Relations Strategy and Hardware/Software acquisitions.
- Program Development - Curriculum Development and Program Evaluation.
- Community Engagement - Community Needs Assessment, Collaborations, and Community Resource Inventory.
