The Future Foundation, a non-profit youth organization in East Point, will show teens how to celebrate Valentine's Day responsibly when they host the 2nd annual Red Event: Hollywood Glam, 6 PM - 8 PM, Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, at Welcome All Park & Multipurpose Facility at 4255 Will Lee Road in College Park. More than 150 teens ages 13 to 18 are expected to attend the free event.
The Red Event will give teens a fun, safe environment to celebrate Valentine's Day. Along with dancing, food and prizes, teens will participate in various games designed to make them more aware about healthy relationship skills and why it's important to abstain from sex until marriage.
While teens learn positive life skills, they'll also experience a night filled with glitz and glamour. Teens will have their very own red carpet, complete with a photo staging area. A Mr. and Ms. Red Event will also be crowned, awarded to the boy and girl who had the most people register and attend the Red Event. There will also be a celebrity look alike contest that will judge participants dressed most like their favorite entertainer.
Participants are encouraged to wear red in honor of HIV/AIDS awareness. Teens must RSVP and have a signed permission slip from their parent to attend.
